I need to know if an intake-exhaust manifold from a 235 cid will fit a 216 cid engine. I have a 1948 Chevrolet truck wi a 216 cid engine, and would like to replace it with one from a 235 cid engine.

You should have some drain holes in the lowest point, usually in the front. Grommets would keep away rust creep, but if you get leaves and stuff they will clog up more quickly.

I made it back from my Motorcycle/Camping trip.
1560 miles in a week. My garage was suffering from a 20 year accumulation of crap, so I loaded the gorgeous old truck up with over 1000 pounds of stuff to take to the dump. It was 60 miles to and back from the dump, (my county doesn't have a dump) and the truck didn't feel like it was hauling anything. If I baby the truck, it just sips fuel, but every time I "play around", I notice the gas gauge dropped another notch. The sound of that exhaust made it worth it though. We've been getting a lot of rain lately, and yesterday I noticed there was 5" of rain in the bed. I'd assumed it would leak out around the tailgate, but apparently the tailgate seals up pretty tight. I'm considering a hole with a grommet maybe, but worry about rust. What do other people do? David |

Just finished installing a 2005 5.3/4L60e mated to my NP205 in the stock location in a stock height non lifted 1972 Jimmy. It was an interesting swap to say the least. I've just put about 10 miles on the swap.

Ron, your prayers must have worked. I'm pain free now. It just took a while to heal. Speaking of that; how have you been doing? I seem to remember you having some sort of problems. I hope they are also in your past. Life isn't much fun when you hurt. Hate to say it but my problems have worsened in the last year or so. My left leg and foot is dead from the knee down. I have fought tooth and toenail to keep it but it's not looking good Having trouble breathing as well so I stay in alot. I try to stay upbeat and not dwell on the bad but it is what it is. I'll try to check in more often if some of you folks will start coming back. Got tired of talking to myself. |
